Cars in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were contacted by a resident who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police state they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they added.

Police then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.

City officials said they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the residents for information.

An important official stated the vandalism left him stunned and required to be solved quickly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant aiming at residents of migrant background in 2020.
